CoGames – Gamified Monitoring of Cognition in People with Multiple Sclerosis

Gamified smartphone-based monitoring shifts cognitive assessment from the clinic to real life, enabling valuable, high-frequency insights into brain health through an engaging and convenient approach.
Silvan Pless is currently a postdoctoral researcher at the RC2NB, where he also completed his PhD in clinical research, focusing on the monitoring of cognitive function in people with MS. During his studies at the Faculty of Psychology at the University of Basel, he worked in Prof. Calabrese’s research group, conducting neuropsychological assessments and research with MS patients at the University Hospital Basel.
After obtaining a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and Neuroscience, with a thesis entitled “The relationship between affective symptoms and cognition in MS”, he undertook a research stay in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where he investigated personality traits and cognition in MS. Upon returning to Basel, his work evolved from studying cognitive impairment in MS to contributing to the development of a novel method for cognitive assessment in MS as part of his PhD. His work now primarily involves the improvement and further development of the CoGames.
